Faber Software approach to the model
In order to have the maximum result in using Faber Products,
the following approach is recommended.
Faber Products satisfy all these requirements.
To effectively use models as decision support tools, it is
necessary that models are realized:
- in reduced time
- with limited costs
- easy to use
To be a valid tool for analysis, optimization and process
validation, the model must be:
- Operational
- simulation: the model must allow alternative scenarios evaluation, at the
operative level
- dynamic: the model must allow real time process monitoring and control
- Modular
- components: must be realizable for aggregation of standard
functions
- extendibility: new process components must be easily integrated in future
development phases
- details: each process component must be detailed at different levels
- Integrated
- complete: all the process characteristics must me represented
- the model must constantly guarantee the mutual compatibility
of all functional, organizational
and managerial choices.
- result: the effectiveness of the
choices must be verified using final results too
- Flexible
- Aspects relative to resources, data and organization must be defined
separately, to be integrated in successive phases independently
- parameters will allow to modify separately characteristics like timing,
initial values and quantities
- Usable
- the model should be used in different modalities, like decision support
tool, monitoring tool, verification and validation of hypothesis or
technological choices, integration tool or quality control tool
- the model must be easily used by the end users
- Documented
- model documentation must be always available, complete and updated
