 Watch-Over

Modeling and simulating is nowadays a practical and economic process to predict and analyze criticalities that on the real system should be unacceptable either time duration or budget. Model a system and simulate its behavior is the best way to achieve simultaneously three important results:

  • A better comprehension of the system, given by the modeling phase.
  • The discover of system critical paths, by setting different scenarios of simulation in order to cover all possible cases of performance.
  • Test and reliability of the improvements made to the model before the implementation on the real system.

March 2008: Faber 2.2 Released!

A new version of Faber has been released! This version integrates in our simulation and modeling tool the most used open source version control system: Subversion.

Now Faber projects may be under version control by Subversion. This new feature meets the requirements of modern team of developers, which have to control intermediate versions and grant a ruled access to the project units. Version control may be useful also by single developers, in order to track the evolution history of their Faber projects.

Faber is the Tool for Your Needs

Faber is the suite of modeling and simulation tools that allows you to quickly define, design, and document complex discrete event systems and start model simulations.

  • Is formal: extended Petri net language provides you a tool to build non-ambiguous objects, allows code reuse creating single classes or libraries of classes.

  • Is simple: its interface is easy-to-use and intuitive, the language is graphical and consists of a very small set of symbols with few and simple syntactic rules.

  • Is scaleable: Faber is suitable for use on small and large technical projects.

  • Is powerful: the Faber modeling approach is object oriented and data may be easily and dynamically managed with the entity-relationships models.

  • Is realistic: time is simulated, concurrent events and procedures may be handled during simulation.

  • Is versatile: simple C/C++ routines as well as calls to more complex external functions may be introduced in the model activities. Integration with existing software components, is not a problem for Faber.

  • Is multipurpose: besides the simulation you can generate the code of the model (emulator) in order to obtain a standalone application or multi-process and multi-platform distributed application.

  • Is self-documentable, a detailed and complete up-to-date documentation of the model may produced in HTML format.

The new Challenge: Enterprise System Modeling

Perhaps your company is evaluating the need to deeply renew his internal organization, or just to tune some business processes. Perhaps you have the method yet but you have no idea of the impact it could be on your company. It would be better to test it before implement it but no one know how it could be done.

Faber Software is working to this new key solution, using his decennial experience on design, develop and market on simulation tools,  developing a new modeling and simulation tool. This tool uses the CIMOSA standard methodology, which bases on process oriented modeling approach, to describe all the company activities (manufacturing, managerial, administrative, organizational).

The best feature of the tool is the simulation of the company model, through a “what-if” analysis you can evaluate changes to apply to the process under inspection. These changes can be implemented meeting the real and actual company procedures, thus leading great benefits with a short return on investment.

Another great feature coming out from the formalization of business processes, is to produce a detailed documentation of the processes. This documentation may be used to gain the certification ruled by the standards national and/or international (ISO 9000).
